You can wander through the museum without a guide and will be greeted by several passionate volunteers along the way. They love to share some traditional crafts and their history with you. With treasure hunts, a play area and a square of old Dutch games for kids it truly is a fun-filled day for all!

Old crafts museum

The museum offers no less than 160 different traditional arts and crafts! And while passing shops and workplaces of specific craftsmen -and women you’ll learn about the history of, mainly, the Netherlands from approximately 1900-1980. Step inside a blacksmith’s forge, an old classroom, watch spinners or a tanner at work. Seniors will love reminiscing and the young(er) ones will be amazed by times gone by. The museum really takes you on a journey through several decades.

Old crafts come to life

To truly experience history several arts and crafts are being demonstrated live in the museum. Every week volunteers recreate old times by actually spinning a wheel, producing stained glass or making clocks like they did in the old days. The outside area of the museum highlights some antique farming machinery, an old fire hose and large butter churn. And for the young visitors there’s a square filled with old Dutch games.
